I remember my very first tradeshow. The thought of leaving to a show the day after NYE isn’t so great after an extended weekend of partying, but can I say that for a 7am flight I got there around 4am and d@mn, was the check-in lines looooooong. Needless to say, i didn’t make my flight and had to chill at the airport for over 7 hours before a next flight was available. Anyhoo…onto tradeshows…
You go to so many of them you could probably walk through one with your eyes closed; although I’m sure you would start a ‘fender-bender’ with the rest of the tradeshow horde. Now, I don’t know how many you attend per year, but being that I take part in very few, I think I still need to keep my eyes wide open. Even though I missed my flight, I had a great time in the booth. I was able to learn a few conversation starters ...

So… no one wanted to leave any comments. That’s fine. We get it. Not that into it. How about we try this…
Construction of our new website is underway. We’re shooting for a late 2008 launch date with it and our intentions are to add features that will help you. The question is, what features are you most likely to use? Would you want customizable sell sheets? A virtual proofing tool? High resolution image galleries? Freight calculators? These are just a few of the ideas we’re bouncing around, but if you have some suggestions, please email me and let me know what you think would be most useful for you and your customers.
So get those fingers ready and start typing! My email is

Were you one of those kids that woke up at 3 in the morning on Christmas day in anticipation of all the great presents you’d be opening?

Not for nothing, but this Blog-A-Line stuff has me stumped. This is my 3rd blog (I think) and hopefully I’m doing ok. (I better be if I’m taking quality time to write these things). I would have to say that writing is definitely a form of therapy for me-ask my friends, I can write paragraphs-however, I would much rather prefer devoting the time I have from these blogs to our company catalog. Have you seen our 2008 catalog? We included some new attributes such as the choice of colors, the creative layout, and HELLO!...ideas ideas IDEAS.
Now we are in the process of designing our next catalog for 2009 and actually, this is where perhaps YOU can all come in and give your 2, 5, or 10 cents. Besides the obvious information and pricing, what exactly makes a catalog? Is it the color combination, product/romance imag ...

Hello loyal blog readers. Yes I mean all of you. All 3 of you, that is. Are there more of you? We don’t really know for sure yet, but we’re hoping the answer to that question is a resounding “YES!” We've seen some hits coming through to this page. However, since we haven't had anyone comment yet, we can't tell if they’re from us here at Avaline, or if we actually have valued customers checking up on the goings on here in the woods of Northern New Jersey (yes, we do have more than shopping malls and highways here, believe it or not).
I’m going to give you a job. All I need you to do is post some comments below about our website. Pretty simple, right? And it will help us both out so I ask you to participate for the following reasons:
1 – It will let us know you’r ...

Did you know that the month of August is Cataract Awareness Month, Eye Exam Month, Golf Month, Water Quality Month and this week (first week of August) is World Breast Feeding Week and Clown Week? And these aren’t all…I can list a bunch more! You can find these monthly “observances” all over the internet. I often wonder who sits down and decides “Hey let’s make August 1-7 Clown Week?” But then again who cares, we in the promotional products industry should rejoice. If anything, they certainly give you ideas for approaching a new business or company you may not currently be doing business with. A great way to start a converstion with a new prospect. For instance…Eye Exam month…what a great opportunity to stop into any optometrist, ophthalmologist with some fun ideas on how to promote their business. And even if there’s no immediate need, well at least the “doors been opened” and they are aware of your serv ...

Wow, what a weekend. It was straight party mode from Thursday till Sunday (or I should say up until our salsa dancing which ended who knows when). Imagine a 4 day weekend at the Jersey shore with 5-6 girls crammed into 1 room…it was total chaos-especially during the times we were getting ready for our nights out. Between makeup spread all over the countertop, hair dryers blasting, velcro rollers dropping everywhere, a hair straightener that almost burned my friggin fingers, and deciding what outfits to rock, we made it out alive every night. Let me tell you, us chicas can definitely work well under pressure – especially with the help of Sandra’s mango mojitos for some.

The air conditioning in my car doesn’t work. I didn’t realize how much I truly appreciate stale cold air until I didn’t have it. I’ve been busy organizing a surprise birthday party for my husband and because of the lack of funds and time, I have not been able to get it fixed. So I begin each day looking fresh and end each day, well….we don’t want to go there. And now with July 4th weekend upon us..the dreaded traffic…and a 90 degree day ahead of me…what do I do?Read More »

For the past 3 weeks, everytime I look on the front seat of my hot rocket (yup…it’s a Toyota) I cringe. Before I go any further, I should mention my name is Jenn (the fierce Marketing & Tradeshow Coordinator). Anyhoo, a few weeks ago I moved from one apartment to another. As nice as the soon-to-be new place was, it was in need of a minor paint job and some cleaning here and there. So here I am thinking of what colors to work with, lime green, mango, cyan, fuchsia, bright yellow (being that I LOVE working with these colors and trying to keep the theme I originally had: Tropical) when my new landlord informed me that if I was going to paint, it was going to have to be white. Wait…excuse me…huh?? What the!…Hello?! I’m the one who will soon be paying rent and he is dictating what colors I use?! After a mental temper tantrum I decided to agree without arguing and made a point ...
